MEET THE MOJICAS

IMG_0294.jpeg.jpeg

David was born and bred in NYC, and raised in a Christian home. Since an early age, David has served the church and the community. David has devoted his life to communicating God´s amazing love to those far away from God, and has a passion for helping people reach their potential and to experience God personally, and to see them grow as fully devoted followers of Jesus Christ. David is an ordained minister and completed Masters degrees in Management and Divinity from Princeton Theological Seminary. After many years working in municipal government as a city manager, David and his family received a call from God to leave their home community in central NJ to start a new life and experience as missionaries in the Dominican Republic. The Mojica’s listened to God´s voice and left in 2013 to the D.R. to start a new church and to launch an arts ministry in service to over 2000 public school children. The Lord blessed our efforts in miraculous ways for the past five years and we just returned back to the states. After praying for our next move, the Lord impressed it upon David’s heart to start a new church in Salinas. We are amazed and thrilled at the opportunity to serve the city of Salinas. We are here with open hearts and hands, excited about what God will do through this life-giving ministry.

David is married to Ylva, a wonderful woman, who is passionate about loving and serving people. Ylva taught 4th and 5th graders in her native D.R. for the past five years. David & Ylva have three girls - Esther, 18, Sarah, 16, and Ruth, 14. Esther is a freshman in college and Sarah and Ruth attend Salinas High. The Mojica’s love spending time together in the outdoors, having fun and acting silly, reading, watching good movies, going to a baseball game or a tennis match or simply going for a hike or a stroll down the shore.

The Mojica’s are partnering with Tulare Community Church from Tulare, CA, to start a new faith community in Salinas. David wants to see people transformed by the power of the Holy Spirit and equipped with the relevant message of hope, leading to a greater embrace of the works of compassion in a broken world.
